Melina and Omar’s Wedding

When I find out that I will be shooting a wedding at a golf club, I get very excited. Not because I love golf per se, and not just because the views are usually spectacular, but it is because I get to drive around in a little golf cart. There I said it. I guess it fulfills some sort of a childhood fantasy or something.:)

This wedding was not shot at just about any golf club, it was Le Mirage, Celine Dion’s private golf club in Terrebonne near Montreal. It is one of the most beautiful venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at period.

But what really made the day for me was how calm and collected the couple were. Omar and Melina are some of the most down to earth people I know, and it was a pleasure photographing their unique wedding. Here are some of the shots we took that day:

Kids’ Photo Shoot at Kazoom

As you know by now, I am not shooting weddings exclusively. I am one of those photographers who has a really hard time putting the camera down. While not shooting weddings, I am doing a variety of other jobs from house renovation photography, to private family portrait sessions.

Parents can now get unforgettable photos done professionally for a fraction of the cost that other photo studios in Montreal charge, while their kids have a blast at Kazoom, an indoors playground in the West Island. I had loads of fun doing this photo shoot and I look forward to many more enjoyable sessions there. Here are some of those incredible  shots:

E-Session: Magalie and Vincent

Wedding season has just started with a bang, and what a great start it was!  We just completed our first engagement session of the year with our lovely couple, Magalie and Vincent.
It was a very interesting story as to how she even found us… Magalie saw a photo we took on her friend’s facebook page and she fell in love with our style enough to want to hire us as her wedding photographers right then and there. The funny part of the story is that we weren’t even her friend’s wedding photographers, I just happened to be standing in front of the hotel where her friend was exiting right after her wedding party had ended. It was sheer luck that I was at the Old Port on that evening doing one of my impromptu outings and just playing and taking pictures of Montreal’s sights and people when I saw the couple come out of their taxi, complete with wedding attire.  I couldn’t resist asking to take a photograph of them.  They permitted me to take the photo and in gratitude, I sent a copy of it to them.  She liked it so much that she placed the photo we took on her facebook page and the rest is history.
Initially, we planned on taking the couple to an alluring wooded area near-by, but when Jerry and I went on our scouting mission to check things out earlier that afternoon, we passed by the local fire-station and decided this would be a great starting location.  After quickly stopping in and asking, we received permission and were given pretty much free reign to shoot anywhere at their station. Our special thanks to the gentlemen at this fire-station, as they were more than happy to open their doors to us and our couple, and we really appreciated it.
Ironically, we later found out that Vincent loved this location, because earlier in his life he worked as a fire fighter back when he still lived in Paris, France.
A very fun session with a fantastic and brave couple who took on the very chilly evening in light clothing and handled it like troopers.  Thank-you so much, Magalie and Vincent, you guys were awesome!!
Here are some of the photos from this session:

Family Trip to Quebec City

During the last weekend which was also Easter, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and we drove to Quebec city. The people of Quebec city were very warm and friendly and there was a lot of places to walk at the old part of town. I forgot how beautiful the city is and how much it has to offer in terms of nature, architecture and culture. The thing is the city is so different when you go there with kids. It was fun to see it through their eyes.

While there, we passed by Montmorency falls which are about 10 kilometers away from Quebec city and what a breathtaking site. The falls are 80 meters longer than Niagara Falls and normally there’s a cable car that brings you to the top of the chute. However, the park was closed when we got there so we decided to climb the stairs (all 487 steps in total) all the way to the top. Let’s just say I have a whole new respect and appreciation to the thing we call gravity. Oh did I mention how humiliating it is when your kids (3 and 7 years old) can climb those stairs faster and with more ease then you. The view from the strategically located lookouts was stunning and the cold misty drizzle along with the sound of falling water is an experience not to be missed. I definitely have to go there again and really stay and take in the beauty of it all.

I now have yet another cool location to recommend to my clients for an exotic engagement session location or better yet, a trash the dress shoot. Here are some shots I took while we were there of my wife and kids:

Just like I do when photographing couples, I asked Adam to give me a cool pose and this is what he did

Faris went along with the ninja theme

This is Rania, my beautiful wife

Faris and Adam wait for mom to come out of one of the local shops

Two days of fun can take its tole on the best of us:)
