As many of you know, especially those who are planning their wedding this year or the next,  Quebec’s largest bridal show; the Marions-Nous show was held last weekend here in Montreal. Many of you may have even met me at the Beautifoto wedding photography booth there. Long story short, the magazine associated with the show which is in it’s own right also one of, if not the most popular bridal magazine/guide in Montreal. Well, if you flip through the pages, you will notice that a lot of the editorial photos used in this issue are non other than Beautifoto’s. Quite a few of them in fact are used in large format too. Wow, I am so flattered and humbled by that. This pushes me to continue to innovate and to think of yet more creative ways to stand out from the rest.

He are a few shots of one of my favorite albums from last year featuring Loredana and Jiulio who also happen to be some of the coolest couples I’ve had the pleasure to photograph.

They chose to go with my top of the line package which features a beautiful 60 page leather album with an impressive 28 inch span when opened. Check it out:

It was a joy to photograph this couple on their big day and I can’t say how easy going Davide and Carla are. Even when faced with a broken down limousine, they both

kept their cool and went on like nothing out of the ordinary had happened. What’s amazing though, is right across from where their limo broke down we found this magnificent fairytale-styled royal wagon in the parking lot. As you can see we were able to get some original shots of the couple and their bridal party. All and all it was a splendid fun filled day spent with great company.

It was quite cold to be shooting outdoors yesterday. Some would even argue that it was freezing in fact. Despite that, Venesa and Matthew went out with me on a stylish photo shoot at the old port and Venesa had nothing on except for her wedding dress. I felt really guilty to have a sweater and a winter jacket on, and still I was still cold. despite that and the strong wind at times, this lovely couple went through with the photo session gracefully and with style.

As I might have mentioned before, it is really refreshing to work with couples who really appreciates what I do and who are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen for me. I mean I could’ve asked this couple to jump off of a bridge, and they would’ve done it, because they would’ve trusted that I’d probably get a really good image out of it. Lucky for them though, there were no bridges around. Hmmm, come to think of it, that would make for a good image. At least while they are still in the air that is.

Well, we spent a few hours at the old port and I am very happy with the images we ended up with. Here are some of my favorites:

I’ve been doing wedding photography for many years now. During this time I’ve heard a lot of speeches read by brides and grooms and their families and friends, and some of them were quite good. In fact I have to admit that I am a speech junky. I actually look forward to the speeches and I find that they reveal a lot about the personalities of the couple, their families and so on.

Of course my job as a photographer is to capture the speeches in an interesting way and hopefully capture the emotions felt by the person giving the speech or the one the speech is being given to. Every once in a while, and I assure you this doesn’t happen very often, I find myself caught in the moment and totally motionless, just mesmerized by the spoken words. When Roxanne and Kally started exchanging their vows, I must say I had one of those moments. I mean there was no one telling the couple what to say to one another and there was no previously prepared speech on a piece of paper. Nope, it was all from the heart. Both of them proceeded to speak to one another completely and utterly in love. I wish I could repeat the words, what they said was so eloquent and so beautiful it brought me close to tears. I know for a fact my assistant was weeping a little. 

Don’t get me wrong, this was no boring slow-paced wedding either. As a matter of fact I hardly noticed the time go by when I found out that I was there 18 hours. That’s very close to my record time of 19 hours spent photographing a wedding and I didn’t even fell it. Oh and did I mention that this was my first Congolese wedding too.
